Can I put 1977 springs on my 70 malibu? The rear springs are noticeably different in my car (70' Malibu 4dr 307/TH350); it seems that the left side spring and ride height are original, but the car is almost 3 inches higher at the rear passenger side. My question is because I can get the four springs from a 77' 305 Chevelle 4dr. for free... Is not easy to find parts (used or new) over here... :(

Look to see if the rear springs have a "pig-tail" (small coil) on each end. If they do, they will most likely fit, althought the ride height may change.

Rear springs are easy to change, all you need to do is un-bolt the shocks and lower the rear axle down while the frame of the car is supported on stands.
