OK I know Jake knows his stuff so that is why I adressed him directly folks.
here is the deal I got two th400's both are rebuilt no problems there. here is the deal I purchased a trans brake and manual valve body kit from redneck performance and decided to install it in here is the problem thier instructions are so crappy I have no clue what Iam doing. I have rebuilt a few th350's and a 700r4 and one 200 metric so I am not a pro but Iam no dummy and I have all of Ron Sessions books for the aformentioned trans. so in a nut shell I need to know where to find the overrev band? that is what thier instructions call it I also need to know if the hole you need to drill is in the front drum or direct drum I ask because thier instructions say direct drum yet the pic is of the forward drum. so now I have a th400 torn apart sitting next to my car and I have no clue what mods I need to make or any thing as thier directions look to be typed by a amature kid who doesnt know what parts are called or where they go. these are the worst set of directions for installing apart on anything I have ever seen so please help me I really wanna get this thing back together and do it right.
Thanks
Jeff

You drill the bleed hole in the direct drum, so it will release faster. You also usually install the heavier springs there as well.
Leave the center seal out of the drum and the 2nd sealing ring from top off the center support.
Plug 1-2 accumulator feed and leave seals off 1-2 accumulator piston.
The band you leave out is the intermediate or front band.

Jake thanks your a god send. ok the only question I have left is the 2nd sealing ring is that the lil one in the top of the piston inside the direct drum? or is it a different seal? I know witch one is the center seal is. thanks for clearifing witch band to leave out I thought I was gonna have to go deaper into this trans and truthfully I couldnt get the rear assembly to to come out its seems stuck in there. this trans was rebuilt 7+years ago and sat so long with no trans fluid in it I found the glue holding some of the friction matrial came off and so I took the other rebuilt one witch was done 3 years ago and was being run in a suberban apart to get the friction material and clean steels so I have 2 trans missions and parts now just need to get one reassmbled and working. one last question before I forget what do you do with the front acumilator the one that controls the front band? I noticed there is no hole in the new plate for it and there is an open spot in the new valve body but there is no piston in the new valve body in that location do you leave those parts out?

He is talking about the center lip seal in the drum itself. Use both lip seals on the aluminum piston in the direct drum and leave the lip seal out of the drum. On the accumulator, you are completely eliminating the band, so leave the accumulator parts out of the case, they will no longer be used.

Is Jake's Performance actually still in business?
I can't get in touch with them at all.

The private message box here is full and will not accept any further messages, when I called the shop I only get a message machine, and the email I sent to the email address listed on their website has gone unanswered.

I was going to get a transmission from them, but have had to look elsewhere because I can't get in touch with them.

Regards,
-Greg

No, he is still here, daily, and from what I read, he is still in business. He just needs to clean out his PM box.

Start a thread directly to him, telling him to clean out the PM box, you're losing money.:D

Yes I am still in business and very busy.

PM's here are not the best way to reach me. Email is best. I've had a rash of people who use the contact form on the website and don't enter an email address, I get a contact form in my inbox from my site with no way to respond to it.

We've had a nightmare project for the last 3 weeks, complete restoration on a '66 Mustang and the paint is blistering with no rhyme or reason, PPG rep cut us a check to fix it and it did it again. We're trying to get it done.

Losing money is an understatement this month...
Got burned on a $3000 transmission by a TC'er, so anybody that needs a full billet 200-4R with 9.5" converter, email me it's on sale.

Greg,
Did you leave a message on the shop phone? I haven't gotten one that I recall, and I also haven't gotten a PM notice here, I get those if the PM box is full. I've gotten one today, it has had space for the last few days until today.
