I recently purchased a oem rear sway bar on ebay for my 72 Chevelle. Last year at the Chevy swap meet kits were available to weld in place to do it yourself. I missed this year and I am trying to find out where I can find these. I am on a tight budget so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

While you are at it you might want to grab their sway bar shim kit which includes the sway bar bolts.

Zieg72, I was going to go this route myself until several welders told me they would probably fry the bushings on the lowers trying to weld them on. I ended up buying some rectangular stock from steel supplier and welding a piece of flat stock to the side of it an used the existing bolt holes in the arm bolt it inside the unboxed arms. Total cast was about $20 but I didn't have to remove the arms nor did I have to worry about burnt bushings.

Zieg72, What size anti-sway bar do you have on the front? The rear bar looks good but the front does most of the work. If its 1" you will get more bang for the buck if you go to the salvage yard and find a 1 1/4" Trans-Am or Z-28 Bar.($15-25)New 1 1/4" Poly bushings and ends from the parts store Then when you install the rear it will compliment the front.
The "U" shaped arms are designed to twisted some with the roll of the car. Boxing takes most of the twist out. When you box the arms and install new bushings, Drive your car some before installing the anti-sway bar and you will see the boxed arms and new bushings will do more than the bar.
If you install the bar without boxing and new bushings, You will have to look under the car to know its there. It will look good though.
