What color should the dash area be when painting the metal surfaces of the car for interrior combination 771 ~ Antique Medium Saddle? The area at the front dash where the V.I.N. is located and the rear at the rear package tray? What did you guys use? kind of paint, where you got it from ect....? Thanx 4 your help.

I remember seeing on this site that VIN area should be interior color therefore Saddle in your case. Mine was painted Black before, and I also have Saddle. I just did my interior over but left it Black. If my windshield was out I would have painted it Saddle. The paint I used was from NPD to paint my dash, pad, console and kick panels. Its not a perfect match to me but close enough without going crazy. The flash from the camera makes the mis-match look alot worse than it is. Here's a picture.

OH My. Can someone Please Look at the metal part of the dash where the V.I.N. is attached, just in front of the pad on your 70-72 and please tell me, if your dash pad is red or green is the metal piece red or green also? if the pad is tan, is the metal painted tan? Please Just look. Pics are better of course.
Thanks for your help.

Ken, Check Rich's site on his Red Conv. restoration. He does his own restoration's and is very accurate. As you can see on his red interior that panel is red except for the VIN tag. Hope it helps. Here's the link. http://my70ss.homestead.com/RedConvertible5.html
