As the title says, I'm leaving around 2 pm for Madison Wisconsin for tomorrow's kickoff. I won't be driving the Chevelle but will be riding in my buddy's highly modded '87 Grand National. Neither of our wives could go so it just made more sense to ride together. Plus if he can keep the boost down we can pull some decent gas mileage. This will be my fourth Tour. I've never done the whole thing, we usually go about 4 stops or so. If anyone is close to the route, do what you can to check it out because it is unreal.

Here it is behind my truck on the way to the dragstrip a couple years ago. We trailered it just in case he broke because the strip is about 2 hours away.

I did 5 so far, 2 of them were long hauls. If anyone gets a chance to do it, there is nothing like it!!! Party all night, drive all day. It took us a week to recuperate!

That's a shame Kurt. Maybe next time.

Last year in Rochester Minnesota the cops turned a blind eye to one of the side streets and let people do burnouts and donuts for about two and a half hours or so. It was AWESOME!! Luckily noone got hurt and the cops got a deservedly standing ovation when they broke up the party. I still laugh when I think about people yelling at the cop to do a burnout and faked us all out with a tiny brake torque. It was beyond funny to see!

I wanted to do at least the first half of the tour but I am sooooooooo slammed with work I will only be able to go to the local stop here. It looks like they changed the stop from the GM tech center to Metro Beach, which is a GREAT move on their part. It's right on lake St. Clair, has a large marina a small nice golf course and is just generally a cool place. Here's the location.

If I have the time, i'll bring the boat out to Metro and if I run into any of you guys we'll go for a spin.
If anybody needs any info on the area let me know.

Hey Mike,

Fortunatley it is not later in the hot part of the summer - when that area usually gets, er, sort of crappy, if you know what I mean. ;)

Hope the weather comes thru, forecast is not good right now.

If it is raining I can make it - (softball will be called off).

Yes, I do know what you mean and you are exactly right but tuesday will be okay.
Wow, I just checked the weather and I didn't realize that it was supposed to be crappy on tuesday. That sucks. Hopefully, the forecast is far enough out that it will change for the better.

Don't expect any of that in Madison... very unfriendly car town. It's also supposed to rain into next Tuesday, not ideal cruising weather! :(

We were there most of the day also and WOW what an incredible example of cars from across the states and into Canada! This event was better than Goodguys as the cars covered every year, make and model ~ nothing was left out! We would've stayed longer but the weather was very unforgiving with the constant rain and COLD, bummer!

Amazing selection of cars, did see a few Aces and Team Chevelle owners! Found my '75 Chevelle that Steve restored years back, it hasn't changed much. When we told the owner Steve did the work, the jack@ss didn't seem to believe a word we said, even though we could point out things on the car only we would know. Some people...

We're going to head out to a spot near Madison tomorrow morning to see them start off, that should be amazing.
