The non metallics are not stopping my car very well. Has anyone switched to metallic and was it much better?

I have used the real velvatouch metalic shoes in the past. They are no longer avalible. The problem is they would not stop very well untill they were heated up. Not a desirable thing on a drag car. Have you bought a set of shoes from an auto part store sells cheep shoes? Try a set of high perf shoes. I have heard people talking about hi perf shoes on this site but have not payed much attention since I have Baer 4 wheel discs and dont have a need for hi perf shoes.
