Saw this on ebay... three turn steering box (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&category=33588&item=2467153856&sspagename=STRK%3AMEBWA%3AIT). Is anyone familiar with this product? Is $185 a good deal? Thanks in advance.

that is the quick ratio
came as part of f41 option
sounds a little high
rebuilts are not much more and you know what you are getting

I bought one from my local parts house for about the same price. I really wish I hadn't put in the quick ratio, any slight movement of the steering wheel and I find myself darting around the road.

Just my thought!

I don't really like it either
but if you use a bigger swaybar, offset upper shafts, and as much caster as possible it does help

you guys that are complaining of increased sensitivity, have you modified the pressure valve in the pump?

i made the swap to a Grand Cherokee box not too long ago on my 66 Chevelle and i love it! i used the pressure valve and the shorter spring that came out of a late 78 or so Trans Am WS6 p/s pump. my car has the stock 2 spoke wood wheel, which is pretty big. the car feels great, i can turn the steering wheel with one finger, and at speed the steering has alot more "feeling" and is NOT overly sensitive. the main thing i love about this steering box is the increased ability to correct yourself while sideways. ;) :D

check this link out, it explains it all in depth.

i just wanted to add that the instuctions in that link tell you to remove all the washers from the flow valve, i left one washer on mine.

I'm with RatOnAStick on this one. That quick ratio is handy with the ol' big block gets squirly! I'll never go back to the slow box.

I gave $85 for the last one I bought (used).
