I really wish I hadn't put in the quick ratio, any slight movement of the steering wheel and I find myself darting around the road. RatONaStick Mar 16th, 04, 10:55 AM you guys that are complaining of increased sensitivity, have you modified the pressure valve in the pump? i made the swap to a Grand Cherokee box not too long ago on my 66 Chevelle and i love it! i used the pressure valve and the shorter spring that came out of a late 78 or so Trans Am WS6 p/s pump. my car has the stock 2 spoke wood wheel, which is pretty big. the car feels great, i can turn the steering wheel with one finger, and at speed the steering has alot more "feeling" and is NOT overly sensitive. the main thing i love about this steering box is the increased ability to correct yourself while sideways. ;) :D check this link out, it explains it all in depth. pump valve mod page (http://jeffd.50megs.com/Pump_valve_mod_page.htm) Tom's 68 Mar 16th, 04, 11:05 AM i gotta try that i was going to change my box but i'm gonna try this first RatONaStick Mar 16th, 04, 11:46 AM i just wanted to add that the instuctions in that link tell you to remove all the washers from the flow valve, i left one washer on mine. 70ChevelleRagtop Mar 19th, 04, 12:47 AM I'm with RatOnAStick on this one. That quick ratio is handy with the ol' big block gets squirly! I'll never go back to the slow box. I gave $85 for the last one I bought (used). | ||
