Hi ya'll, has anyone had any experience using circle track car control arms? I was thinking of using AFCO or HOWE control arms on my 68 but don't know which one's to use if they will work at all. Thanks

There have been a couple posts about them in the past. Not too many people went with them, as far as I noticed.

I think someone got a pair (not sure which brand) and had to do some clearencing on either the frame or the arm itself. I don't recall exactly.

Try searching this forum or hold out for a responce from someone who has a set. There has to be at least one. smile.gif

I thought about it before I bought my Hotchkis ones until the guy at the parts place pointed out that the steel bushings might not feel too good on the street. I suppose I could have modified them but I'm lazy. And, at the time, had more money than brains.... :(

I'm actually looking to run steel/aluminum bushings to eliminate suspension deflection. Anything to stiffen up the front-end, starts to float at the high end of 5th gear<speed not given>. Looking to run the pony express in May and want it real tight. Thanks for everybody's input. Still looking for somebody who has actually run them.

There is a guy on here (FO_FDYFO) that I think purchased some from Pole Position... They specifically make a setup for the Chevelle, and they make the circle-track stuff...

They might also offer a Team Chevelle discount...

They have a web site, or search for FO_FDYFO's previous posts... I am not sure if he installed them yet...

You do have to clear two spots on the gusseting of the frame, but other than that, they are super simple to install. Plus, they come with either steel bushings or rubber, depending on your desires. They did give a 10% discount and were great to work with. graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Thanks everybody for your help, I think I',m gonna order me a set. I was wondering which arms to order, there are many options for ball joint application and rubber/steel bushings. I don't mind a stiff ride but don't want it true stock car style either. Thanks again.

Make sure you are using "straight up" arms and not "offset" arms if you get them from an oval track supplier :D

That front end "float" you are feeling at the top end is most likely air under the car lifting the nose. Very big problem at pony express style high speeds. Put some kind of air deflector under the front to keep the air out from under the car if you are going to be running over about 130. Not likely you would survive it if you caugt air under the front at the top of a hill on a curve. The road shoulder is soft, soft out in the desert.

HI;

Wasn't this about front control arms? Someone mentioned "Front End Lifting".

Actually, as we look at the post, it's about both.

Sorry.

550-40083 (Rear control arms).
