I've been trying to bleed the brakes on my GS400 since yesterday after swapping to disc brakes. I could never get a pedal that didn't go to the floor. I tried a vacuum bleeder, one-way bleeder valves, swapped the booster, replaced the MC, replaced both rear wheel cylinders. No dice. I'd bleed until there was no air, then move to the next one until I had all four, but stil no pedal. I was tearing my hair out.
I found I had a leak at the right front caliper at the banjo bolt because I was missing one of the copper washers. I thought, aHA, that MUST be it. I replaced it, and then over tightened the bolt and stripped the threads on the caliper  Soooooooooooo I went to Autozone, Advance, and O'Reilly's, and they were all out of stock. Carquest had one, so I picked it up. That was the beginning of the ah-ha moment.
I went back home, took the old one off (noticing that the old one is a GM casting and the replacement was a generic made in Crapistan repro  ). That's when I noticed that the new one didn't match the old one. I thought "aaargh, what ELSE is going to go wrong, they gave me a LEFT caliper instead of a right!"
Then I took a closer look and realized they had actually given me the right caliper, I had just switched the left and right calipers when I installed them :clonk:
After I fixed that little problem, I was back on the road in 20 minutes
Edit: that said, I'll see you clowns at the Thursday night races :)
