i have a few neighbors who take care of my yard work, in trade for cooking for them and occasional car work.

retired guy wants to do the brakes on the front of his suzuki g7 (mini suv), he heard because of the anti lock brakes, we can't just force the fluid back into the master. is there a little trick i need to know before we slap some pads on this thing???? i don't want to harm anything.

I don't know for sure, as I've heard the same thing about antilock brakes. BUT, I've changed the brakes on quite a few cars with ABS without doing anything different or special. Never had a problem, and the ABS still functioned fine on all of them.

I have heard that you have to crack the bleed screw open and let the fluid out when spreading the pads. Then you have to refill the master back up to level. I havent had any problems doing it this way.

All I've ever done is apply pressure to the old pads and slowly let them compress back. Just don't force them. If the calipers have pistons on both sides, Try to apply even perssure on both sides at the same time. I've changed quite a few pads on ABS cars and have never had a problem.
