: New jersey guys!

I need someone in NJ to check this car out for me! 67's are my favourite year! the car has a solid body (from what he says), a 10 bolt, 283, and PG. I would be changing all those things but this is a great price for a 67 and I really am drooling for this!!!
If anyone can go by and look at it/take some more picture of it for me, see if it runs and check out the trunk, floors and underside thoroughly I would appreciate it greatly!
these threads are getting annoying. Sorry, its just that every time I want to buy a car right when I get help the guy sells it:sad:
JpMotorsports Jun 1st, 09, 2:57 PM Looks kinda goofy without the vynil top not going down the A-pilars

andrew T Jun 1st, 09, 10:07 PM Any New Jersey guys out there??
czeto Jun 2nd, 09, 9:20 AM Andrew, there are two Mt. Bethels in NJ. From the phone number, I believe it is the one in Warren County in the vicinity of Hackettstown. This is a million miles from me and I'm not sure if there are any NJ guys on this site close by but maybe someone else will chime in.
andrew T Jun 2nd, 09, 6:22 PM I still have to contact the man, and I will let you all know!
andrew T Jun 3rd, 09, 4:17 PM The guy won't even get back to me!
why is it that people never get back to me, answer my emails or my phone calls?

because it's not the car the car for you, when the right one comes up, it'll happen. looking for a car now a days is really work. i'm always looking, just in case something i have sells, then i have a little head start. sometimes the first car is the one (my cutlass) sometimes it takes weeks (my lemans). it'll happen, hang in there...

I am not rude or pushy, I am always polite!
whenever I find a car that is nice and the guy gets back to me he sells it to someone locally before I can make it down there!
I never say my age, because I know if I do they will think I am some punk wasting their time, but I don't know what else to do to get some response/respect!
very frustrating, its been almost a year now!

yeah, it's hard to buy cars long distance, no doubt about it. sometimes a guy will sell short locally, than deal with a long distance buyer. i recently lost a very clean caprice in chicago, because the guy didn't want to wait one day for my wire. i think he took about 1,500 less than i offered just to have cash in his hands.
it will happen, i looked at over 50 cars recently before i pulled the trigger on this lemans. sometimes it's just luck, and you've heard the saying, sometimes it's better to be lucky than good.
it's not like when i was a kid, and you saw a car parked on the side of somebodies house. today, it takes a lot of hard work, to find a decent ride. that's one reason i press the fringe cars. you sometimes find something cheap, drive it while your looking for something else. you get to participate, and go to the cruise and have a little fun. look at andy, he's taking his buick to chevellabration this year, and if i had the time i'd go in my lemans.
try not to get discouraged, a car is coming, and it will work out. you'll find a sellar that will work with you, send all the pics you need, and you'll know, it's the car for you.
also, maybe a new thread, asking if anybody has a friend who has a car for sale, then you know, that you can get eyes on the car, a budget plane ride, and your driving home.
you don't want to ship, your budget is a little shy, and being summer time and tax time, you have more competition and fewer cars to choose from. it all makes for a frustrating search. i personally still haven't ever owned a chevelle (i did have a several el caminos), but i wanted to be part of the scene, and that's where the cutlass, lemans, skylark, fairlane, caprice, etc., etc. came in.
my situation is, when i have $, i can't find a clean car in my budget, when i don't have $, they come up everywhere. just as frustrating, but i do know at some point the heavens will align, and i'll have the chevelle i always wanted...
