4-door Chevelle

I have a 1972 Chevelle I am attempting to install no-hop bars on. They go on the upper control arms of the rear-end. The bolt is not long enough to go all the way through the ear on the rear-end plus the fingers on the no-hope bars don't seem to go where they are suppose to either. The bushing (is that the right term?) is about 2 inches long but if it was about 1 inch long I think everything would fit properly. I looked on summitracing.com but didn't see anything. What is your experience or ideas?
I Thank You !!!

i am pretty sure that the bushings are not suposed to be in the rear at all. take them out and replace them with the block of metal provided in the kit. it is solid mounted.

It appears to be a bushing but what it is is like a metal cup with a rubber bushing inside that with a metal tube at the center where the bolt goes through it.

I just installed some Hotchkis upper and lower trailing arms in my 67. The busings that your taking about go in the axle. I had to take out the center (Rubber and Metal tube in the center of rubber) then press the bushing in. After you do that, Then you put the rubber bushing back in the shell. If you have any questions feel free to e-mail me. tongue.gif

4 door-
That is a bushing. It needs to be completely removed to use the no-hop bars. Read the instructions I linked for you and you'll understand.

Thanks riskyvt for the info, I didn't see a link though. I did just talk to a tech guy at artmorrison.com and he said what you said ... knock out those bushings as they are no longer needed. I wish I could leave work right now and do just that. I is tough being a racer and living in Minnesnowta.
Thanks again and Good Day !!!
