Will a 1965 elcamino frame work under my 67SS? Also does anyone know if 300.00 is a fair price? I have never bought a frame before so I never thought about what it should cost. Seems fair to me, but if everyone else is getting them for 25.oo.....
Thanks

IS your SS an Elcamino also? if so then you should be fine, however in the 68-69 models the frame is longer for Elkys and wagons than it is for Coupes and convertibles.

My car is a Chevelle SS 2 door hardtop. Will this frame work for me if I shorten the end of it?

i dont know anything about frames earlier then 68 but if the same applies then the elky frame will be boxed so to use it you will need to use different fuel and brake lines and a different crossmember. the rear of the elky frame is not just longer it is flat or straight however you want to look at it. you would have to cut the rear section of the coupe off and weld it to the elky frame behind the rear suspension. earlier then 68 may be different, so i guess you need to check it out. unless you are set up to do all that dont mess with it. elky frames are hard enought to come by why butcher one up for a coupe. find a coupe frame.

Thanks for the replies....The reason I am going to use a el camino frame is that there is a guy local who parts out older chevy's and the rear has already been snagged out from under the car and it is sitting on the ground(would probably rot if I didnt get it). I have a good frame under my car but lack the space time to remove the body and work the frame that is under the car. My friends at the metal fab shop are willing to let me keep the frame out of the way and work on it in the shop. I have everything to do a C5 brake conversion and was wanting to get a rolling frame together with my drivetrain and just switch my body onto it. The city of Valley already complains about my car, so if I had a body sitting on blocks on my property they would surely try to impound it. Would it be easier to get another coupe frame and box it v/s an already boxed frame?? Would there be a significant weight difference??
Thanks
