I found a set of spindles and backing plates off of a 1984 Delta 88. The man wants $60.00 Can I successfully use these? Is the Delta 88 a B body?

Check to see if they are 11 inch or 12 inch rotors. If you are going to do the swap, you might as well get the better brakes. Check here (http://www.globalwest.net/1964-72%20disc_brake_conversion_informatio.htm) for the list of donor cars.

Thanks!!!!

I never see you online anymore. I enjoyed chatting. What gives?? smile.gif

EDIT: Important:
We have ran into two different types of 12-inch disc brake spindles. One version uses a small outer bearing measuring .750. The second type uses a larger outer bearing measuring .850. Use the large diameter outer bearing spindle.

Do I need to worry about this?

You want the large outer bearing spindle.

I have used the .750" spindles on circle track cars before without problems. However, I would use the larger if at all possible. In this case bigger is likely better. The .750" bearings were on the '78 and earlier cars. But to be sure of yours just measure the diameter of the spindle where the outside wheel bearing goes on. Just inside the threads for the nut. It will be either .750" or .850". If you don't have calipers to over to Harbor Frieght on New Circle Road and buy a cheap set, it is a great $20 investment. ;)

Remeber, I am in Buffalo we only get 3 1/2 weeks of summer. I have only been online during the day at work lately. Soon to return to AIM.

Good Luck.
