Anyone running these traction bars? I have box lower control arms, rear sway bar and polyurethane bushings. The car hooked good with the TH350 trans.I recently installed a tremec 5speed now I have a wheel hop problem. I like how the lakewood bars look but I also need something that works.
Thanks smile.gif

George-

Please be a bit more specific on which Lakewood bars you're referring to. Lakewood makes two styles, for coil spring cars: 1. NO-HOP bars, which re-locate your upper control arm mounting points on the axle, and 2. Ladder bar style bars which make the rear suspension very stiff, affecting ride.

I can say the no-hop bars cured all my wheel hop on the '72 Chevelle SS with ZZ502 and Muncie 4-speed.

These are the ones that look like what would be on a leaf spring car. competition engineering sales the same bars at a much higher price.
lakewood traction action suspension bars $143.95
com-engineering coil spring traction bars $219.95

actually lakewood made at least 3 bars, the no hops, ladder bars, and a set that attached to the lower control arm bolt and had a snubber that contacts the frame. They also have an adjuster that comes back to the crossmember. Do they work, YES. There is a fine line in adjustment between riding like a lumber wagon and not. The snubbers require a bit of a gap (about 1/2 to 3/4 inch) so the cars suspension can absorb the road under driving conditions. Only bad part is this kills part of the ground clearance as they hang down about 4 inches lowere then the control arm mounts on the rear differential.
