I just bought a 12 bolt that I removed from a 72 El Camino that had the sway bar attached to the control arms. I'm sure it had been added by the previous owner. A friend of mine has a 1970 El Camino with the sway bay too. I know he added it and it did improve the handling. I don't know why the factory never offered it as an option on El Camino's ? Maybe because it was a light truck and not mean't for performance ?

Added a 1 1/4" to the front and a 1 1/8" to the rear of my 72 El Camino. Poly kit in the front end, dumped the air shocks for the old school Air Lift bags and put KYB shocks on all 4 corners. Don't know how many "G's" it pulls, but it will push fuel out the filler neck. Far as I can tell, it works pretty good.

El Camino's never got the F41 optional suspension. The air shocks suspension was standard equipment. Mine still had the factory air shocks when I got it.They were rusted leaking and the air bladders were torn, only one side held air.
Welded and boxed the stock arms and added the factory 7/8 bar.Installed a 1 1/8 front bar.The handling is much better than before, corners flat and is more stable.

We welded the reinforcements into the control arms and added the rear sway bar to our '69 el Camino. The bar definitely helps in the cornering. If nothing else, it looks neat.
