I just got done with taking off the Chevelle Steering box, and installing a 97 Grand Cherokee box. Im very pleased with the results.
$50 dollars for the box (wrecking yard)
$32.99 Rag Joint (Advance part#200)
$4.95 Fittings (local hyd hose company)
$7.00 Fluid
Total $94.94

Thanks for the help and input

Great. What's the advantage to the Jeep steering box? I've heard of this before and am just curious. Thanks.

I told you it was E-Z.
I'm glad you like it.

Advantage?
You would not beleive the difference. The car sits on the road like my Avalanche does. Before, I enjoyed driving the car because of the looks and attention the car got, now the car is actually nice to drive.

Excellent!!
For those who do not have power steering. Where would one get the mounting bracket and power steering pump?

Mastif,

So you put this on your 67? I was thinking that conversion was just for 68-72.
I was out driving my 67 yesterday and I was thinking that it really isn't that much fun to drive. If it wasn't for the fact that it looks good going down the road, I'd probably not drive it.
You convinced me, I'm converting!

Thanks, Jeff

Do the fittings just convert the hoses from US to metric?

This works for the 67s also, I just did it to mine a few months ago along with hydroboost brakes and the difference is amazing, I can turn and stop finally!

It's a direct bolt on, I just took both hoses to a local Hyd Hose company, and they swapped the ends on them. I got the Jeep hoses with the Box at the wrecking yard for $50 total.
You will be very happy with the results.
