hi all, im about to start rebuilding the front end and had a question. im going to start buying parts this weekend, like shocks and springs. the car came with a 6.6 400, and im going to put a 454 in. should i get parts for a 400 or a 454? car is a 74 malibu. thanks all. :thumbsup:

Loaded question with too many variables to give an outright answer. What are your goals with the suspension? Factory ride? Modern ride?
If you're just replacing due to wear, go with the 454 parts where applicable.

yes im just gonna rebuild due to age and wear. trying to go to modern ride with parts from local parts stores (autozone, oreilly, napa etc.) nothing fancy.

Are you considering modern performance? Or just modern factory replacements... If you're just looking for OEM replacements, go Napa/Moog. Moog still makes quality parts IMO.
If you want modern performance replacements, consider Delalum for bushings, Howe for BJs... Hotchkis/Bilstien for springs/shocks.
If you want true performance upgrades from OEM, consider SC&C's (http://www.scandc.com)offerings.
