My laptop is dead. It started out that it would boot but as soon as windows loaded the screen went dead. The screen would work in safe mode. Then yesterday the thing completely died and will not turn on. I tryed removing the battery, and it is getting power (supposedly) because the indicator light by where you plug in the machine comes on. Nothing else works though.

Its an HP DV6000 I believe.

Don't know if you got an email from HP or not but that model numbers battery is being recalled. Don't think it's related to your problem just an FYI. Here's the link http://www.hp.com/support/BatteryReplacement Might be a bad power supply. My son had one that would light up but didn't charge. Pete
