I have a '70 Chevelle SS with a VortecPro 475 ci big block, 3.42 gears, and a Monster 700R4 trans. I am currently running a Monster torque converter with approximately a 2000-2200 rpm stall. Is anyone having any issues with running a higher stall converter than this on the street? I was thinking of going to a 3000 stall. Any input from those with experience would be appreciated.

I have a B&M 2400 Holeshot that flashes to 3000 with my 454...works great for me and it is not too "loose" on the street.

I'm running a 2600 RPM converter. I love it.

Mines a little over 3,000 - no troubles, nearly 100% street driven.

I got a 3000 stall th350 (flashes higher), mostly street use, no probs. call several converter companys or email , make sure you have all the engine specs, gear ratio and tire size... they will recomend a converter ideally matched to your setup, they should all be close.

I just installed a 3200 stall in my '67 (3.73 rear) and my bro-in-law's been running a 3500 stall in his '69 Malibu for years.
No problems.

Just got big block in my chevelle with b&m holeshot 2,800 a friend gave me.I didnt know what to expect but have about 80 miles driving .I can stop at a light in drive no problem takes off very smooth seems totaly streetable.I do notice that it turns a little more rpm at given mph than my stock one.I have not really got in it over 2,500-2,800 rpm but sure seems like it is going to pull hard.:)
