Okay on a '70 Chevelle with A/C, on the passnger side, just inside the cowl area is a vacuum pod that causes a door to open to add more air to the intake plenum of the HVAC. What is the proper color of the vacuum pod??? Is it metallic silver, mine looks like it was, but now's its rusty and the bottom of it where the mounting bracket attaches looks like it was painted flat black, but could be overspray??

I would guess it was originally cad plated....not sure on a 70.

Not sure on a 70 either, but my 72 appeared to be black, I believe. I'll take another look at it tomorrow and try to find out.
