...apart to put in a new front upper A arm bushing? I put a PST poly kit on it when i rebuilt the suspension 6 months ago, and the bushing and bolt holding it on both fell off! I had them pressed on.
So, please tell me there is some way of gettin it on there w/out rippen the suspension apart. Much thanks, my velle is my only transportation and i work part time and go to college, so i need to get this fixed!
Thanks

Is the outer shell still in the control arm? You should be able to take the new poly bushing out of it's new shell and slip it into the control arm.

Ah! Frustration! Last night i tried in vain to align the control arm hole with the bar that goes through it in order to slide the bushing into the shell. i finally got it horizontally aligned, but the a-arm is pushing up too hard, even with the car jacked of the gound. Please help!!! I dont really have anyone to help me, but i really need to get this fixed. Any ideas guys? Anyone done this before???

Put a jack under the lower a-arm & support the car by the lower a-arm. With a stand under the frame if the jack fails. Do not remove the shock or sway bar. Pop the upper ball joint, reassemble the bushing. Reassemble the ball joint. Put Loctite on all the bolts nuts etc. Torque the bolt or nuts.

Another way to ensure that the spring-loaded lower control arm doesn't damage you or your beloved chev is to remove the shock absorber and run a piece of all-thread through the shock mounts and double nut both ends. This will allow the upper control arm to be disassembled without reliance upon a jack.
