Morning guys!
I just stumbled upon this site as I was looking for ideas to build my 69 Chevelle I just bought yesterday. Currently a 307 with a Powerglide, but looking at swiping the 400 OH has for his El Camino. LOL! Probably gonna settle for the Vette 327 we have with a 4 speed behind it.
I've been into classic Chevy's for 10 or so years now, but this is the first one I can truly say is my own. :D
OH and I restore our classics from start to finish, he does the body work, and I get to help wrench and do the interior stuff. Helped with motor mounts and getting the engine set in his car yesterday.

So, now what should I do with my car? Haven't decided if I want to do original or original with some mods.

Welcome to the best Chevelle site on the planet. As for what to do with your car?
Do what you want with it to make it your own would be the best answer, granted it is a bit generic.

First of all, great to see another husband and wife team, My wife and I enjoy the hobby together also.

As far as your question, the choice is totally yours. As long as you enjoy the car and are happy
driving it that's all that matters. If it's not a numbers matching car or a survivor then I would do it your way!

Welcome Bethany, you can find all the answers you need on this site. Make the car how you would like it. Nothing wrong with a good running 327.

Welcome Beth :waving:. I think you should do it as you see it. You probably have a picture in your head already. Take it from there.

Hey, Beth. I have a '69 also, it had a 307 with a power glide. I put in a 375 hp 350 and a 700r4 OD trans. Works great and gets 17 mpg on the highway. (just a thought).
WELCOME.....

Kevin, it doesn't seem like you see husband wife teams very often.

I've been thinking about it since I bought the car, and I know some of what I want to do with the car.
I will use the 327 with a Borg Warner 4 speed, I want to upgrade the brake system so I can enjoy driving the car, keep the interior looking original, upgrade the wheels to something I like- maybe the Cragar street stars, debating if I want to upgrade the dash to a Covans classic one or not, not sure if I want to use bench or buckets. I'm thinking for paint I want to do a black cherry, so it looks stock from a distance, but up close you can see it's not. I don't like the original lemans blue that was on the car.
Fortunately, I found a nice solid complete car and all the emblems etc are still good enough to be used on a driver, which is all I want anyhow. Hubby will have the body done for show when he's done with it. He's got 20+ years of experience in the field.

Thanks for the welcome guys!
Bethany

Welcome Bethany. I like your thinking on the upgrades. The only thing I'd forget is the Covans Dash... It's been over done and personally, I think there tacky..

No pics yet. Forgot the camera when I bought it, and haven't gone back down to haul it home yet.

I haven't seen many of the Covan's dashes. I like the looks of the all black, with just the white faced gauges.
Either way I need to replace mine, since it's broken- I think someone tried to remove it, and didn't know what they were doing.
