A friend had a '67 4 speed Chevelle with the 275 hp 327. With a cam, headers, intake and carb, he gave fits to 390 Fords and 396 Chevelles. These little engines have great potential and still don't kill you at the gas pump.

Thanks for the heads up. I imagine it originally came with the camel hump heads then. Ive got the same basic motor in my 68 elcamino. Jim

Two points to make on the double-hump casting marks as far as Chevelles go. First, nothing really special about the double-hump heads, they were standard fare on 327s from 65-68 and 350s in 69 & 70. Not implying there is anything wrong with them but too many sellers seem to think they are something special when they point them out in their ad copy.

Second, depending on years from 1965 through 1970, there were two basic versions of the double-hump casting mark heads for Chevelles and even shared the same casting numbers for several years. One was the standard 275hp 327 with 1.94/1.50 valves and 327s with 350hp or 325hp came with 2.02/1.60 valves.

The heads that came with the motor are the 520 "powerpaks" dated I 6. the intake is dated 1964. No telling what happened in the last 40 + years with it. Jim
