I have a manual steering gear that leaks the oil out. Is there a repair kit available for these? I also need the coupler that goes onto the spline shaft and the rag joint fits onto it. I thought my power steering coupler would work.

Thanks

For '65 the chassis service manual specifies EP chassis lube for the manual steering gear. Cjeck/service at 36,000 mi. intrvals. What's been put in your gearbox for lube?

JJ is correct about the lube, not supposed to be gear oil.

Mine has gear oil. Looks like 90. What is this grease you are talking about? I know you take the bolt out to check for oil. How do you get it into there? If it takes grease then it will not be leaking. That will be good. Then all I have to get is the coupler that goes on the box shart.

Thanks BC

I got out my service manual. It does say chassis lube. It tells how to get it in there too. I have mine draining now so I can refill with the chassis lube. I forgot I had a chassis service book.

Thanks
