ok i've got the rear arms off and am working on boxing them in. i'm reading through through some of the archives to double check the use of the 7/16" bolts and 7/16" inner diameter tubing for the spacers. then i see one post that mentions that while 7/8" bars use 7/16 bolts, 1" bars use 1/2" bolts. i don;t actually have a bar yet but assume that i'll eventually spring for the 1" over the 7/8", i've got the arms off now and want to finish this before they go back on. can anyone else verify this about the 1" bar and if so should i just go ahead with the larger hardware? i assume that someone set up for a 7/8 bar has done the switch to the 1" bar, any problems with bolt sizes and what not? if i end up using a 7/8 bar will this be ok with the larger spacers set up for the 1/2" hardware if i just use washers to fill gap from the smaller bolt head vs large spacer inner diameter?
also for 7/16" bolt i found that a 3/8 pipe from the plumbing section is the best fit for inner diameter. how does this make sense in that 7/16" is larger than 3/8". boy plumping supply sizes are wierd
