A few years ago I installed the Hotchkis Upper A-Arm Cross Shafts with the offset for camber adjustment. Every so often I find the big nut on the drivers side, Faceing the Rad. starting to back off. This is the only one. What did I do wrong?
Thanks
Bob J.

Later year GMs used a self locking nut on the upper A-Arm shaft instead of the bolt and lock washer like the Chevelles. Try a brand new self locking nut on the shaft. I haven't seen one of those back up. Kragen has them or can get them. If it's not in stock, look it the HELP! catalog and order one.

Bob, I purchased mine from McMaster-Carr. As John said they are self-locking.
I asked Hotchkis about theirs - specifically, why did they include a castle nut when there was no hole for a cotter pin. They told me it was just the style of locking nut they used - but they warned me that I could only tighten them once, and if I undid them for any reason I would need to put new ones on.
So, I canned them and got several new grade 8 locking nuts, because I thought I would probably have to do one or two of them again.
Anyway, I have extras now. And, I have the original Hotchkis ones, too. If you want one, I could pop it in the mail to you.

Thanks for the Info & help, Now that I know the nut is the problem I think I can correct it.
Thanks again, Bob J.

I remember this also being an issue on my '66 and now that I checked the '65 recently, 3 out of 4 nuts were loose - all stock components.

I installed two Jam nuts on the ones I could get to.
I hope I never need to change the one under the brake master Cyl.
