I have a 70 Chevelle, It came with power drums.. I went to power disk on front. I bought the replacment Porportioning valve from OPG. and changed the M/C to a disk/drum. My question is, I am hearing about different size rods in the booster... I have not been able to get my brakes right. Has anyone delt with this already?? and what are the 2 lengths of the rods and witch one do I need?? Any help would be greatly apreciated... Thanks Guys..
Scott,
This is DG from the local Chevelle club www.chevelles.net/tristate (http://www.chevelles.net/tristate). I live in Springfield, but work at the base.
You oughta come out to our next meeting end of October.
Anyways, we dealt with this issue with Pauls 65 Tall spindle disc upgrade.
A brake booster vendor broke it down like this.
If your master has a small indentation (cup) where the booster rod meets the master, then you have the short "rod".
If your master has a small hole () where the booster rod meets the master, then you have the long "rod".
A problem we had was Paul pushed the piston in too far when he first bench bled the master and the front part of the piston stuck. We could not get any fluid to the front at all.
You hafta bench bleed the master. There is a kit with rubber lines.
Then crack the kins and bleed as you leave the master, prop valce, combination block to the wheels. There is a lot of air when the system is dry.
We have a couple members close, maybe if you need it we can get a couple guys and swing out.

Thank You DG. I think I will try to get the 2 M/C together to compare. I understand what you mean about them. I checked out your Club home page. I just might look into it.. I have found myself making frequent trips to Resto. World in Huber Hieghts...Thank You for everything.. Scott
