Running a 383 with moderate cam, shorty hedders, 700-R4, AC, two row aluminum radiator, serpentine pulley setup.
What do you recommend for:
Fan size??
Shroud type?? (The factory style shroud I have now limits me to a 17" fan)
Thanks!!

With mild 383 the stock fan shroud along with the proper 17" hd AC type HD clutch fan with more blades & hd/ac type fan clutch you should be fenoughesp with an AL radiator that new and or in good cond thats of proper size/capacity for your setup with AC.
But you also need to esure your running enough timing with the cam i see you have that needs approx 16-18 base timing & approx 36-38 total along with vac adv too.
I suggest that because if your not running enough base timing and vac adv with a street motor (esp with AC) and the perf cam your running retarded base timing and no vac adv will drive temps higher. In many cases that retarded timing is enough to cause heating up issues esp at idle in traffic & or when crusing in slow traffic when rms are below the rpm when the total is fully in so keep that in mind.

Thanks, Scott. I always enjoy your posts, and appreciate you input on this. Yes, I do have a true heavy duty fan clutch, and a multi-blade aftermarket fan (wide blades, not the narrow ones) I have read your other posts about timing with a lot of interest, and intend to go with the base and total timing as you have indicated, plus vacuum advance will be used.
