Does anything look out of the ordinary? Machine marks correct?

How did you clean the stamp pad a buffing wheel, steel wool, ???

The area around the VIN derivative was cleaned pretty aggressively across the pad.
There are good looking broach marks above that in the picture.
The marks across the pad do not look like grinding marks in the picture.

This appears to be a 70 Chevelle built in early June with a 350 HP 402 with manual transmission. The engine build was May 25.

If the block casting number and casting date match up with the engine build date I would accept this as an authentic stamp.

Someone in the past had cleaned the numbers pretty aggresively with what looked like a scotch brite disc wheel and then they left it to rust over. The area above and to the right of the numbers where you can see the milling marks had no rust on it. I tried several types of rust remover and could not get it cleaned so I used a soft wire wheel on a drill to remove the rust and paint. This is what it looked like before the wire wheel.
