Freddy Mercado May 21st, 09, 9:32 PM Because some fool is going to buy it!!!!!!!
Rich02 May 21st, 09, 9:36 PM I guess you guys missed the NOS Corvette wing nut that sold for the same money or the white shift ball for $150.
Go Figure?
Finally May 21st, 09, 9:39 PM Because they're NOS, nylon inserts or not NOS makes them valuable. I wish he had more so I could stock up on them.
mwiggett May 21st, 09, 9:48 PM NOS or not, those thing won't add any value to a car. I've got a coffee can of those things...maybe I should sell them.
Trophyman May 21st, 09, 9:52 PM NOS or not, those thing won't add any value to a car. I've got a coffee can of those things...maybe I should sell them.
$10 for the coffee can. Everybody else stay out. I WANT this coffee can !!!:beers:
Keith Tedford May 21st, 09, 9:59 PM I haven't checked lately, but GM was still using this stuff on their trucks until a few short years ago. I dare say that you can still go down to your GM dealer and order them......and it won't cost $86 either, even at GM's prices.
BlueSS454 May 21st, 09, 10:21 PM Why?....Because there is someone out there dumb enough to pay that for it.
Finally May 21st, 09, 10:26 PM $10 for the coffee can. Everybody else stay out. I WANT this coffee can !!!:beers:
I was here first, that coffee can is mine! I don't care about the can but those inserts are worth major bucks. Oh wait, I have some in garage, never mind.
grandsport May 21st, 09, 10:30 PM Is that decaf or regular?
1971ss454Elco May 21st, 09, 10:47 PM Gentleman, its simple and dont be fooled, the SNAKE thats listing these has one or two other of his buddies bidding them up. I have seen it many times before. Steer clear of these dredges of society who give online auction sites a bad name. What this item, I bet it sells high and will be relisted with an excuse blaming the buyer backed out for some reason!:noway:
keithb May 21st, 09, 10:59 PM NCRS judges the screws and attaching hardware. since these are all the same across the board and repos will get you a deduct only one point out of 4800.

I think dredges of society might be a stretch for someone who has 5593 transactions, a rating of 99.8% 1 neutral, 1 negative!
If he's screwing so many people he must be doing it pretty good, because it seems everyone is enjoying it.
It the old adage, Caveat Emptor (Let the buyer beware) If someone is dumb enough to spend that kind of money for something you can get for $3.00 in the HELP section at Auto Zone, they have either to much money or they are just plain stupid.
I really don't know why everyone gets so ruffled over auctions like this. I guarantee you, if I could get that kind of money for parts like that, I would sell them all day everyday........and I bet you guys would too.
Rocky
Finally May 21st, 09, 11:13 PM Most everybody on Ebay as something special to offer. Like this guy.

He adds a new auction for these stupid plastic washers every couple of days. I've been looking at these d*** things for a year now Ebay.
jeffschevelle May 22nd, 09, 1:09 AM It's $3 for the nuts and screws, and $83 for the old GM package!
mrfuzzy May 22nd, 09, 1:34 AM just like the saying goes...... there's a sucker born every minute!
texasgilbert May 22nd, 09, 3:04 AM I guess if you're ANAL about your car you're going to get REAMED.
arkitekt1 May 22nd, 09, 8:11 AM When we cleaned out my wife's grandfather's garage I found a set of those from Kmart still in the original package. I wonder what those would sell for? :D
1971ss454Elco May 31st, 09, 11:22 PM You are correct! I may have been a little harsh on him. Im just saying that there are quite a few of these guys who make a living(a good one at that) in selling the parts at a severly inflated price, but I digress, we are the ones paying the money to him. I'm just curious who would pay that kind of $$ for a part available at Kragen.
fast67vellen2o Jun 1st, 09, 4:38 AM Whenever something sells for a lot of money, no matter how crazy it may seem, you always get someone that starts crying the "shill bidder" card. Give it a rest. To some people, money is no object when it comes to restoring one of these cars. If you just spent $100,000 doing a 1000pt restoration on your LS6 or L88, etc, whats another $125 for a set of GM screws.
richietables Jun 1st, 09, 12:28 PM It's a much better deal when you consider it comes with "FREE SHIPPING"......:yes::yes:
Congratulations to the winning bidder for a hard fought victory. LOL!!!
