Well I got the new steering box in. It wasnt TOO bad, the pitman arm was kind of a pain to get on to the box gear, no leaks, turns pretty good so far. There were 2 boxes in stock at Kragen one with lesser turns and the other with more, I was thinking the lesser turn steering box was a quick ratio, is it not? Either way I understand it now, the wheels basically dont turn as far making u-turns tougher, I havent tested it on the real roads yet though, do to my next issue.
Allignment! It's horrid, when I attached the box to the steering column it may have been on half turn, even if so things are off to a rediculous ammount! Ive had really bad luck with allignment shops and need to drive it in the meantime, not sure where to start. Im beat to.... ask any needed questions or any tips would be great to get things back straight. graemlins/beers.gif

I thought the pitman arm could only slide on one way, someone told me not true, I think I may have put it on wrong? Im just not sure whats off. The gear on the steering box that the pitman goes onto couldnt be adjusted by hand, or atleast I couldnt do it, so it wasnt toyed with. I counted the total turns and made sure it was even (may be over 1 half turn clockwise) But the pitman scares me, tough to work with and not sure how it goes on.

I read what was posted, good information easy to follow, from what I read maybe I just need to adjust the tie rods. It steers pretty straight but the steering wheel is way off. So maybe I'll start with the tie rods?

One more post I promise. I never touched the tie rods doing this, but I read and it sounds like I need to adjust them.
