The guy that had my car before me told me it wasnt the right engine for my car (13867 code 1967 chevelle), but he didnt tell me what it was out of. He also put 325 horse sticker decals on the valve covers that he thought belonged there.

Z-16 engine?

I don't think so, but the news is still great if the suffix code is IX. I think it is a 427. The 1031 build date is not correct for a Z16 engine. Check the casting number and casting date on the block.

My happiness has turned. I apparently wrote an x when it should have been a v. I think that makes it a truck 396 which did infact have the 325 hp, hence the stickers on the valve covers.
