I am going to cut my coils to lower my front end and am wondering how much I should cut to get about a 2 inch drop. I have a 66 chevelle with a 350 that has aluminum heads, intake and tranny. Once I can afford it I will either by new springs or use drop spindles but for now I am going to do this.

Just don't cut with a torch, use a cutoff wheel or something that doesn't create a lot of heat.

I took 1-1/2 coils off the original front springs on my malibu. It put my SB A/C car right where I wanted for height. I don't run headers, so I've had no problem with bottoming out, and it rides really nice.
