Im not sure if anyone has seen this one,or if its already been discussed. Im guessing the "stamped extra engine" isn't original,buhttp://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Chevrolet-Chevelle-1970-Chevrolet-Chevelle-395-375-comes-with-1970-L-78_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trkparmsZ72Q3a317Q7c66Q3a2Q7 c65Q3a12Q7c39Q3a1Q7c240Q3a1308Q7c301Q3a1Q7c293Q3a1 Q7c294Q3a50QQ_trksidZp3286Q2ec0Q2em14QQhashZitem2e a5512572QQitemZ200342054258QQptZUSQ5fCarsQ5fTrucks t maybe one day...

My thoughts are that it's a restamp, and I'm not familiar with the world renowned retorer either. We'll see if anyone else want's to chime in.

So it's not an L78 Chevelle, but does have an L78 engine with the sale that has been restamped. Is that about it?

No big deal here, they tell you the engine was "Stamped to Match". I just hope the owner didn't pay too much for that rattle can Resto!!! I also hope the restorer didn't give up his day job either, after seeing the results of his "endless pursuit of perfection"!!!

I just wanted to put it out there,so it wont be out as "numbers matching" a year from now.

they also quote the restorer as "industry renowned"
I guess he doesn't know what the correct seat covers look like and its funny how the passenger bucket seat has the medallion and the drivers side doesn't :clonk: ;)
..and where did that shroud come from?
Regardless, the car is a nice frame off driver..I don't see anything special about it either..but I do like black on black 70 cars w/o the stripe.

In the L78 that goes with it. did anyone notice the crank in the picture. ie it has a dowell pin. i am thinking that it a 454 crank.

Well, take a good look at this picture, and learn from it....it's a typical restamp....

I guess if he has an " endless pursuit of perfection ", he ain't catching it anytime soon, as perfection has a commanding lead. Nothing really great to look at.

I agree with mike, how bad is it, when you tell every body you can stamp it, what kind of bull-$hit is that..real class act

Not a bad ride considering. What i dont like is how he has the SS factory gauge cluster in the dash, but has after market gauges on the column and under the dash? Just a pet peve of mine. Now, and idiot light car? Then that would be ok.
