Ok so I purchased a Painless wiring harness and brand spanking new one wire alternator 120 summit brand and it worked but then I pulled my 383 to do a gasket and cam job and now its killed two batterys... I have to jump it each time and it starts right up and runs. Now I did hook my Amplifier main power to the large batt post on the starter because it was too short to reach my battery but would that cause a prob? Also I have noticed my TACH bounces alot at completely random time and I rechected all the conncections to that..... I am baffled. I am going to disconnect the Amplifier connection just to eliminate that......

Remove the positve cable. Take a test light and hook to the positive cable and the + post with the key off. If it lights up even dimly their is a drain. If it does light then go to the fuse box and remove them one by one and put them back. If the light goes out at any fuse you have isolated the circuit. Then trouble shoot that circuit. If none of them turn out the light its some wheres else but you can elimatinate all the circuits you just checked. Good luck and let us know how it comes out.
