: Lifting Rear With Sway Bar

Have had a few lifting problems since installing a swar bar on my '65 Malibu.
My floor jack no longer fits on the "pumpkin". Have tried to lift from the side rear frame,
but don't like that either. Any good ways to use the floor jack with a sway bar installed?
Thanks,
John

I just lift on the bar directly. Either it's strong enough to lift the back end, or it bends towards the axle and then you're effectively lifting on the axle.

Check in front of the sway bar on the pumpkin......there should be a flat spot between the yoke and cover.......sometimes I use a short 2X4 on the jack pad for a spacer..............

The pad on my floor jack will slip just far enough in between the bar and the pumpkin to lift. It's one of those lighweight aluminum jacks. No way would this have worked with my since-retired older jack. The "pad" was too big.
