Hi, I have sorta a crazy question. I am replacing the whole suspension linkage setup on my 66. I have a full front suspension linkage setup for a 72 thats virtually new. Idler Arm, centerlink, tierods. I noticed that the 64-72 idler arms were the same over all 8 years. I was wondering if I can swap out the whole 72 assembley into the 66? I know that the centerlinks and tierods are themselves different, but if I did the WHOLE thing would it work? I have seen people do this with F-bodies as the 69 was a one year only centerlink, but you could swap out the whole 68 assembley into the 69 with no problems. If it does work would it use the 72 or the 66 pitman arm? Anyone know?

I can be completely sure that I do not have the specific answer, but I can suggest that you go to the web sites of Checker and Autozone and look up the parts there. If they are shared, you are good.

Well, the numbers are NO shared (except the idler arm). Swapping on or 2 parts would definitely not work. But if I swap EVERYTHING I am wondering if it will?

no you can't swap the 72 onto the 66. the clink is wider, and the pitman uses a different size bolt to the centerlink. sorry .tom
