Nice looking '68, 350 engine, T400 trans. No rust.... fair interior and it runs very well. Not a whole bunch of stuff original but overall a nice ride.
Any thought to what the car might be worth?

pics aren't real clear, in these parts, people try to get chevelle $ for them, but the ones that sell in what looks like good condition $7,200 max, can usually get a decent driver for around 6,500.

the last two i bought we're under 6,600....

What Bill says is pretty much what i have seen as well.

SB powered 68-72 elky's in REALLY REALLY nice shape are around 10-12k (REALLY nice cars)
The prices go down from there. $6-7k would buy a pretty decent driver quality elky,
I've seen driveable project elkys anywhere from $2k-$6k.

BB cars and verifiable SS cars are a different animal though, and they command more money than SB cars.

I was curious... the offer is $4000 and I'm interested.

Thank you very much. More pictures.

if it has no rust, 4k is a bargain. parts are cheap and plentiful. i wouldn't think too hard on it, it might get away from you.

elky's are a whole different beast, once you have one, you'll always want one, best of both worlds, cool factor, that you can throw lumber in. need a weekend cruise car, your in, need to run to home depot for that yard project, no problem. from the front, you have a muscle car icon, from the rear, it's all work. can't say enough about them, and i wish it was closer to me @ 4k, i'd be all over it. plus i have a b.b. and 4-speed in the garage...

That is what I'm thinking...... it was offered to me two years ago and I said - no place to park it. Now, I'm thinking that the time is right.

Pretty far from accurate in my opinion. Especially given the current economy.

interesting, the car has the ULTRA RARE 68 low mount rear marker lights.

Lot of arguing and speculation about those... there are a few factory advertisements that show the marker on a 68 like that, but very few cars in real life have been seen with them. WOuld be interested to see the trim tag of this car to see when it was built and what plant.

My 68 elky SS396 was a late november 67 car and it had the more common "no rear marker" setup.

If you get the car, should be good for some conversations in the elcamino forum.

I used the site to try to get the Mrs. to budge a bit.... she is looking at the pictures right now. Seriously, if anyone is interested, PM me..... gotta be fast though. I sort of doubt that the interested party will buy it because he is an arrogant a** who showed up in a '62 Vette with an attitude.... the seller did not like him. He is supposed to show between 5:30 and 6 PM this evening.

Looks like I won't be getting it. Sigh.....

By the way - I asked him to get the data plate information regardless as to if it gets sold or not. He did say that he would sell it to me and I could re-sell it to one of you guys and make a profit.... I said I would not do that. The price is what it is.

He told me that the previous owner frenched the front marker lights.... go figure.

By the way, I just called the seller - he did not hear from the interested 'other' party so I bought it. I now own a '68 El Camino.

I'll probably get it on Sat.... I'll post better pictures in the showroom. It will be my first El Camino I have ever owned. Much cooler than the Ford P.U. I usually drive.
Thanks again.

Cool deal!

According to the cowl tag you posted 09A means the car was built in the first week of september 67... and BF 00363 that is a rediculously low build sequence number.

A VERY early production car! Probably within the first week or two of 1968 production. Explains the rear markers!

What's the story on the '59? Custom cab, big rear window?

The elky looks great for the price.
