I just installed a 2nd gen Camaro 1 1/8" front sway bar in place of the stock 15/16" one. Took it for a drive, and it feels like a whole new car now. I didn't try anything at crazy speeds, but took some corners at a little above what I normally would. The car stays FLAT, with very little body roll.

I had to drill a couple new holes and move the front bushings ahead a little to keep it from rubbing the frame and tie-rod. I think it would be OK in stock location on a stock-height car, but on my lowered car it was tight.

I can't wait to test drive it with my new Posi rear, SSM lift bars, poly bushings, and rear sway bar out back. I should have the rear-end swap/suspension rebuild done this weekend. The brakes might not be done, but the rear will be in.

If you think the front bar made a difference, wait 'til you try it with the rear bar...

I pulled an 1 1/4" bar off a T/A and did not have to redrill anything. I know if i put it on upside down i would ahve had to drill. I noticed more on the front than the rear bar, and i put them on seperate from the rest of the suspension. BUt the rear did help.

Any 70-81 camaro/firebird front sway bar will work. I got the 1 1/8" bar off a late 70s Z28 and I also got a 1 1/4" bar off an early 70s Trans Am WS6 both from the same local junk-yard for about $40 each. I'm saving the bigger bar for my big-block car.

Today I took a curve easily doing 55 where I used to barely be able to go 45.

I'm pretty sure it's not on upside-down. Doesn't look like it would even fit the other way. Anyone got a picture of how it's supposed to be?

You guys are right, those fat sway bars sure do make a big diff on the way the car handles. Ive got 1-1/4 bars on the front and back T/A doner car. With the ebach touring springs and the quick ratio box from a 87 M/C ss Im always looking for tight corners :D
