yep, you can tell im doing the suspension now, with all the questions. :D .anyway after rebuilding the rear suspension, I put the shocks on last. well with the car sitting on the wheels the shocks had to be fully extended in order to line up with the shock bolts. This makes the shocks very noisy (metal to metal sound) when the rear of the car is bounced. Im using monroe gas-adjust shocks.I used urathane bushings and the rear has no pre-load because I havnt even tightened the control arm bolts and the rear has been on the ground for a week now. I know that ride height the shocks should not be fully extended. are all shocks for the rear of our cars basically the same length. in other words would it benefit me to go try another brand or do I need to try to find why my suspension is setting too high. from the center of the wheelwell its 28.5" to the floor with 235/60r/15 tires. thanks

Michael,
I just measured mine and its 25.5" and 245/60/15's are on the car now. I do have Hotchkis springs on mine FWIW.

What kind of springs are you running?

What kind of height are you looking for?

Joe, I would like for it to sit at factory level. I know it wont be exactly right since Im going from 14" wheels to 15", but I would like it to be close. also sitting level is a must,Im running 235/60/15 on all 4 corners, so I may have to wait until the car is back together. doors, fenders, hood, core support is off right now so adjusting the back would probably a waist of time. I just didnt know you could get stock springs in different heights

also, joe do you remember what the unsprung length of your springs are? although that probably wont matter much because different coil diameters will affect how much the springs compress with weight.

Michael,
Many people here on TC, including myself, have used the CC501 rear springs and really liked the results. They are a progressive spring that sits right about factory height, are a bit stiffer than normal, but overall have a very nice look and feel.

Good luck,
Bill C.
