I had the same problem with my 69 El Camino. The problem is the, yes, once again, repro parts we're often forced to purchase. They don't close tight enough to hold the visor up. I found a nice used set. With the original set, the visors tightened right up. Problem solved. Send the repro's back and explain how crappy they are, and find an original set.

I installed a repro set yesterday. If I tighten them too much you can't move them at all so Id say mine fit properly.

Hank, if yours tightened up, there must be more than one type of repro out there. Where/when did you get them?

No but I get my daily allowance of beer! :D Visors came with a complete interior get from PUI. I know Legendary is the ultimate but so far I like the look and quality.

I had to send back the OPG brackets, and the NPD brackets fit and function great.

I also bought a set from Ground Up and they hold up well. The wind really tries to push them down once the top is down. I can tighten the scew enough that they won't even move.
