Looks like we might have to sell the El Camino :( http://i274.photobucket.com/albums/jj278/monte70car/el%20camino/elcamino009.jpg it has had a frame off job frame was coated in Eastwood rust paint. New full quarters were put on both sides, bed was done in two piece but runs full length no hatch for the smugglers hole. New front and rear suspension, 4 wheel disc. brakes. New smoke tinted glass, power windows and power vent. New 2.5" flow master exhaust, alum. radiator that can be run as a manual trans car or use the external trans cooler with cooling fan for the 400 trans. New front clip, SS wheels front and back fronts are 15x7 4" backspacing rear is 15x10 with 5.5" backspacing. Tires are Mickey Thompson with the rear having a 26x12 sportsman radial. New AAW wire harness, has a repro dash housing with the stock gauge packet. We have a little over $20,000 in the car or truck what would be a good price with out losing our butts off?

I am not sure that is possible.

What engine and trans? Unfortunatly, not a good time to sell a project car.

My GUESS is that you'll probably be lucky if you get half the money that you have invested in it.

It has no motor in it but does come with a turbo 400 with a shift kit and a deep chrome trans pan. It did have a 454 in it which went into one of our other cars, all the holes have been drilled in the fender and tail gate.

To be honest, you'll be lucky to get $7,500 out of it.

$7500 sure seems generous to me for an unpainted no engine El Camino.

You'd be almost better off finding a 454 out of a running truck to put back into it. at least that way you could sell it as a running elcamino. If it doesnt make it worth a bit more, at least it would make it a bit easier to sell. jim

Yeah I was watching barrett jackson numbers matching fully done elcos going for 20K

Unfortunately Robert, projects like this seem to be taking the biggest hit in today's economy. Unfinished projects without a motor would probably be the hardest of all to sell. If you absolutely have to sell it don't be surprised with offers in the 4/5K range. It's just the way it is with the state of the economy. All you can do is put it up for sale and see were the chips fall. Good luck!
