One thing that I can't find is the BL code, I know L is Van Nuys or Los Angeles and BAL is Baltimore, but what is BL? Also want to double check paint and interior. Thanks alot.

BL is Los Angeles (Van Nuys) 1970 thru 1972 - strange but true.
796 = Green vinyl bucket seats 48 = Forest Green paint
03D = March fourth week body built
edit: March, May - what ever it takes...
thanks, Dale.

The tags.htm page above will also explain the two sets of 6-digit numbers (your first set has too many numbers) after the body date.

and if you are wondering 6085219 240113 do not mean options. They are just assembly plant processing numbers. They placed them on the tag so the body could be accurately ID'd on the Chevrolet side of the assembly plant and matched up in the system with the right order. Thousands of bodies to match up across several GM divsions.
