: Dipstick color on a 1970 307?

I had no luck in Restoration Corner so I'll try here next.

I just pulled out what looks like the original dipstick out of a 307 Malibu and it looks like quite a few colors, dirt, grease, etc, and the very end of the "curly q" where you grab on it when pulling it out, is a bright green/turquoise color.

Anyone know what colors the "curly q" and the "cup" part where it mates to the tube?

Thanks.

Here's a pic I took of it.

That's the dipstick handle. I took it out of a 1970 307 Malibu that was in the junkyard, everything looked stock but I wasn't even a twinkle in my Daddy's eye when these cars first hit the dealerships.

Anybody know what color things should be?

Oh yeah, that little sliver of green next to the lifter bore isn't related to the dipstick. I just put the dipstick next to it to try to show the difference between the dipstick's green and the stock GM Engine Blue that my brother's 454 was painted.
