: What "sounds" good???

Eventually I'll be going with dual exhaust in a factory set-up. The car's a cruiser, no mean street machine. '70 Malibu with stock 307. I want a little bit more of throaty rumble at idle.

What would be a good choice in mufflers???

First off, has to not be too wild, in fact not wild at all... NO Cherrybombs, no Flowmasters (no, none, don't matter 2 or 3 chambers)!

As with a cruising car, must not have annonying drone at highway speeds.

Must sound "period correct", throaty rumble, not deafening.

Must be loader than a regular replacement muffler, which is so quiet you can hear the powerglide whine over the exhaust!

I read something on this board years ago about Walker DynoFlows?

Suggestions please! Sound bytes even better!

I like the DynoMax Ultraflows that I have on my car - Nice rumble and no resonance in the cab.

Dynomax Hemi Super Turbo (by Walker), which is a little longer and quieter version of the Super Turbo. Probably the quietest performance muffler made and flows very well.

I wanted the quietest mufflers I could find that would flow and sound good
so I put on the dynomax hemi super turbo and with tail pipes all the way out they have a nice purr
you can go to the different muffler sites and listen to the mufflers
