Just recovered my 67 chevelle buckets seats with new foam and covers. Painted the seat backs and I'm having a heck of a time getting them back on. Can't get the upper part to slide onto the brackets. Anyone have any tricks to share?

can you take a picture of the brackets? are you sure you don't have them upsidedown or something?
I'm not sure how the backs couldn't go on, i always just line up the tabs on the seatback cover with the brackets & slide on, then rock the back cover down and then line up the lower holes

I had the same problem with my 66SS back seat after doing it over.
Here's a trick that works for me...Wedge a scissor jack between the front seat and rear seat. Have someone crank it in place while you push down.
works every time for me...!!

Thanks guys. That picture is identical to my seats. It's impossible to install the brackets upside down. I'm going to try a variation of Bob's idea when I get home. The new seat cover has more cushion to it that I'll have to compress.
