If it's not seen a MI winter, why'd they put those hideous mud flaps on it?

Yes, a 1972 model is more collectable, but you can actually restore a '72. For a 1973 model you pretty much have to stumble upon a well preserved specimen.

Those mud flaps look really goofy, but the bodies back then started having an extreme tuck-in on the lower edge and were vulnerable to damage from gravel spray. You could buy it and then take them off.

I didn't think they offered the ½ vinyl roof with the rear side opera windows until 1974 on the Chevelles, although I do have an article on a '73 Laguna with one. It likely was a dealer or aftermarket installation, but you never know...

Check out the wheels on that Malibu, fairly rare Turbine 1 urethane finned wheels

I actually like that car. You seldom find well-preserved 1973 Chevelles now.

Cool - looks like a nice car - wonder what he wants for her? Some more/closer pics might help as well. I tell you, these 73-77 GM A-bodies are the deal to get now if you like them, they are always on the 5k or less side, but it is hard to find them in good shape.Thay did make all the same models as before in this body style so you never know what you could find - GTO, GS/Stage1/442/SS454, all could be had w/ a 4sp - keep your eyes peeled!

I have heard that parts are a bear to find although NPD now carries some.

The small landau top is right. My friend in school had a bright green metallic 73 SS350 and it had a white top like this one.

I find it hard to believe it came with 3.73 gears (more like 2.73).
