T is the engine plant, Tonawanda, NY. The next four digits should be month/day such as October (10), but there's no 33rd day. Last two characters should be two letters (not number-letter) identifying the engine's hp and original transmission type for (generally) a specific model and year. Check the number again, they're a bit hard to read sometimes. smile.gif

Still think you have digits wrong. No engine codes like O2U, and March (03) only has 31 days, not 33.

Example
PMMDDXXX
P=Engine asssembly Plant (T=Tonawanda, V=Flint V8, F=Flint,M=StCatherines, PQ)
MM=Month
DD=Day of the month, 01 to 31
XXX=Engine suffix code, prior to 1970 only 2 digits long, 1970 forward 3 digits long.

Yours does not fit with the day code and the suffix code.

Also would save us searching if you would tell use if its a V8 or 6, small or big block?

All I can say it to take another look..

Maybe even post an image if you can.

I can find no 454 from 72-79 that comes close to that suffix code.

Some typical suffix codes;

The O2U has the be really something else that looks like. Maybe CZU for instance.
