I was about to order a new clutch and flywheel setup for my Chevelle and was thinking of the Center Force Dual Friction kit and a Center Force flywheel. The Summit catalog says the flywheel weights 36.something pounds, just for the heck of it I weighted my stock orignial flywheel (69 SS 396 , 325hp) and it weights 27.5 pounds.
Whats a 9 pound heavier flywheel going to be like compaired to the stock one. My Chevelle has a 427 , 4 speed and 4.11 gears. Which one should I use ?????

It may allow you to get the car moving easier. The extra inertia in the flywheel will help the engine not bog down as much when releasing the clutch. As far as driving you really won't notice it.

I have a CF DF clutch and Hays 30# billet flywheel. Work well together. You just have to use the short head ARP flywheel bolts.

I have a 427, 4.11s, M20---the same as you. Had a stock flywheel before. I can't tell a difference.

Don't know anything about the center force flywheel. Never used one (not for any particular reason). I just went with the Hays because it was lighter.
